A Brief History of Martin Insurance Agency
The agency was established in 1961 by Walt & Miriam Martin beginning with the non-drinker auto, home, and church markets. In the very early years, the business was part-time, being run out of an office in the home in Island Lake, Illinois. With entrepreneurial spirit, the business was built one policy at a time over countless hours.
Over time, the agency grew to offer a wide range of insurance products for the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. The office was moved to a busy intersection in Island Lake - the corner of Route 176 & Roberts Road. The ownership was transferred to a second generation, Merri (Martin) Richards, who brings a business degree, an insurance designation, and over 20 years of insurance experience.
Together, we work for our customers to provide excellent coverage while maintaining hometown service.
